Summary

Dingo is a program designed to extract course schedules from the web based timetable planner Wompat and course examination times from WebOodi at University of Vaasa and make that information available in one location. The Wompat and course exam information can be exported to Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, iCalendar and/or vCalendar appointments. Written in C# and uses NET framework 2.0.

Known Problems and Bugs:

• Only the currently viewed timetable is exported. If you change the export settings in the Settings window, they are unfortunately not saved. So, if you wish to export multiple timetables (say 2007 Fall and 2008 Spring) at once, then you will have to do an export for each timetable (1 time for Fall and another for Spring).
• When synchronizing, Dingo doesn’t test if password is correct and may crash. This can be fixed by either going in to Settings and correcting the password or by deleting Settings.xml in %appdata%\Dingo2 folder.
• After exporting, the sync summary window pops up although no synchronization with Wompat was done. This should really be the window for the export results… (oops)
• Google Calendar support has been removed in this release. There were issues with exporting directly to Google Calendar in the testing phase, so support has been removed for now.
• Exams may show duplicates of the same exam sometimes.
• The promised Export Sync feature has been thrown out the window (i.e. is not used at all, probably never will). It just wasn’t possible to get it working properly…
• Importing, saving and opening timetables commands in the File menu aren’t ready yet.

Requirements

Microsoft Windows with .NET Framework 2.0 installed (the program almost works with Mono 1.2.6 for Linux/Mac OS X, but some graphical user interface components are still out of order.)
An Internet connection to download Wompat and WebOodi information.
