Nokia 770 Internet Tablet Runs the Mono Framework!

Browsing the newly designed Mono project website one day, I browsed out of pure boredom through the screenshots page and found this interesting piece of photo:

Mono running on a Nokia 770!

A Nokia 770 Linux powered Internet “tablet” that apparently can (with some modifications) use the Mono framework and even run a small prototype Mono program! There’s also
a small video available for those who like to view what little it can do at this stage. The video itself isn’t very interesting, but the fact that Mono has been (partially) ported to the Linux distro that the 770 is running. This opens the eyes on .NET developers (such as me) who want to expand the horizions of their programs to more platforms. If only the guys porting this thing would refrain from applying the limitations of the Compact .NET Framework to this 770 Mono version. It would be so much easier to do wonderous things without the limitations that I feel the .NET CF apply.

Hmm, I wonder what other cool things you can do in the future using Mono on the 770?

Are The Engadget Guys Poets of the Fall Fans?
5 October 2005 in Root | Comments (0)

I was checking out the Engadget site in my weekend hour of surfing around a week of news, where I spotted a nice picture of someone (the guys over at Engadget, I suppose?) playing with the shadows. That eerie familiar feeling (yeah, that “déjavú feeling”) made me wonder: where have I seen that before… ?

The Engadget guys playing with the projector? Or something...

After some thinking, I remembered where I’ve seen that before: The Poets of the Fall’s latest music video for the single named “Lift”, that’s where! (See below for an “action shot” of, what the defense will call evidence B.)

Poets of the Fall's lead singer showing the logo of the band in their latest music video: Lift

The conclusion of these two pictures is that the Engadget guys most likely are fans of PoTF and been that way since they played Max Payne 2. :D But, while I’m busy like a… bee and a beaver (i.e. way too much occupied), be sure to check out the music video.;)
