Keeping on coding…

What have I been doing lately? Well, fact is, I started (or rather resumed) my studies at University of Vaasa. Besides enjoying the view and weather over at the UoV campus, I’ve been killing time by programming some software for the Windows Mobile platform and another software for PC.
Introducing TimeContinuum
TimeContinuum is a internet time synchronization program for the Windows Mobile platform. It uses the simple network time protocol (SNTP, also called simply NTP) and implements Valer Bocan’s C# NTP protocol library that has been slightly modified to work with the Windows CE kernel. Here is a screenshot of the alpha version running:

The whole code is done in C# and I’m currently finishing this program for public beta by finalizing some features and the licenses. (I hate writing licenses, but Volar’s C# library requires it.)
This will be available for both Pocket PC and Smartphones (that are unlocked) that have the compact .NET framework loaded. The price for the program is none, zero, zilch, null. (Because, time is money -> being on time is saving money -> price for staying on time = priceless)
The second program in the works is Dingo. Dingo is a program that should/is planned to digest the Wompat (and intentional spelling error that derives from the Finnish language’s almost equally sounding letters “b” and “p”) schedules that is used at my university. Currently, the goal is to get it to feed Outlook with the schedule info so that it then can be synced with my Pocket PC. Secondary goals is export to VCalendar format (should be compatible with all up-to-date and useful calendar software) and possibly some XML saving possibilities also.
The name “Dingo” is from the fact that dingos are wombat’s natural enemy and Dingo will be digesting (aka. eating) Wompat. ![]()
That’s all for this post, see you around. ![]()
